I don't manipulate my flies as often as I could, but recently I fished a stream where dead drift wasn't hooking up many fish. I started manipulating my kebari downstream of my position, and lo and behold, I started hooking into fish after fish! Here's the video:
I really enjoy blog. I have noticed in recent videos that you use a sighter. Could you explain what you use for line? Thanks
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading the bog. Here is a blog post I did a few years ago regarding my preferred line. Maybe it will answer your questions. http://tetontenkara.blogspot.com/2017/12/lines-where-have-i-landed-after-years.html
DeleteWere you pulsing the fly while holding it in place in the current or was the fly just sort of dead drifting a small pool/eddy?
ReplyDeleteI was pulsating the fly while allowing it to slowly drift away from me with the current. Think of this as a "pause and drift, pause and drift" manipulation. Take a look at these examples: https://discourse.10colorstenkara.com/t/kebari-sasoi-tenkara-techniques/479
