Usaki Nissin has announced that they will be releasing a new tenkara rod. Named the Professional Keikyo Tenkara, it is designed to be both very light and strong. There are two flex profiles, 6: 4 and 7: 3, with a total of 6 items in the lineup of 320/360/390 cm. Details are yet to be released.
Looks kinda like the current Kawashi rods, got the 320 and 360 7:3 rods, like em more than the Fuji. Waiting for a 390 7:3, for the money the kawashi is one heck of a deal. Interesting one of my Kawashi's has a solid cork grip the other has the cork overlay on foam, hopefully the new rod is solid cork.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I'm not looking for a new rod, I appreciate your reporting on Nissin, a great Japanese company dedicated to tenkara.
ReplyDeleteI just received one from a gentleman in Japan. Looks like it will be nice for small creeks. Can't wait to get it out on the water.
